Tr606+tr808+cr78+casio mt-36+fx+editspart of an experiment with recordings of three of my favourite analogue drum-machines and a keyboard with amazing drum sounds, intended to create the ultimate combination of all four. This is an experiment. This is work in progress. I won't settle on one ultimate sound -- i will upload several best versions of each drum hit gradually as i fiddle with them. Also expect the rest of the kit soon :).

7 hits on a paddle fan. Still figuring out how to record this. Recorded on samson q2u - the mic was behind the drum surface, and it was struck by my finger lightly on the other side, while being held at a wooden handle. There's some light paint on the drum surface, which may be made of synthetic (plastic?) material, and the rim is wire. It was a gift - unsure of its origins or nature, but it sounds cool.

A few kicks and snares synthesized a long time ago on a novation xiosynth 25, could be useful for sound-design and sample layering, they have an analog drum machine feel to it.

06. 22. 16: a punch created from the sound of a leather glove being whipped, processed alongside a thickly-layered kick drum.

Recorded in my bathroom using a røde nt-5 and a zoom h-5. Cut in ocenaudio. It's always nice to hear what projects you use these samples for. Let me know. ;-).

Striking a wooden barrel with a thick wooden drum stick i have for large percussion. Minimal eq to remove useless frequencies below 80 hz, no boosting more than 2db, so very non destructive. No compression added. No permissions needed but i'd love to hear what you used it in!.

Thump made by tapping the side of my computer. Recorded with my laptop's built in mic, converted with online-convert.

Try as a loop! i used my acoustic guitar and did some knuckle-knocking on the body while muting strings. Sounds like a native drum! effect: speed increase from 33 1/3 rpm to 45 rpm, moise reduction and vol. Envelope. Recorded on conexant smart audio with at2020 mic, processed on audacity.

There are two recordings for each snare hit referenced in the numbered filenames. Adjustment of the sample start point may be necessary when layering these, accounting for any phase mis-alignments. [the full sample pack is being uploaded gradually. ]. .

Metal essential percussion snare drum with remo heads, 40 springs snare strap. One finger hits the drum. Top loose, tight bottom. Living room acoustics. Recorded in 96khz and 24bit in zoom h1 recorder on built in directional, condenser microphones.

A drum n bass / jungle / breakbeat drumloop i recorded here in my attic. Recorded with presonus firebox & samson c01.

This is a free kick sound i created using a roland 808 drum machine. I then ran it through distortion and compression in sound forge to get this hard boomy crunchy punch. Pitched at c2 for convenience. Enjoy :).

A variation on breakbeat 1,a few more snare hits and an extra kick to shuffle it up a bit. A bit of fuzz across the whole drum mix really does make a difference!normalise for extra volume.

Impact stinger in logic pro x. Layered drums (kick, 808, bodhran, some others), metallic pipe hits, compression and effects processing.

Pulled out some random loops, hit the record button while playing with various distortion fx, cut out the most interesting bits.
